Day 1: Welcome To Rwanda!

​

​Arrive in Rwanda, the picturesque land of 1,000 hills, and settle into the luxurious comfort of our 4.5-star property. Take some time to unwind and indulge in the amenities of the resort.

​

Today we will meet for cocktail hour and get to know the group! On the first day we usually do a welcome dinner but since we are having our hair braided the following day we will leave the welcome dinner for day #2.

Day 2: Beauty and Pampering

​

Indulge in a day of relaxation and rejuvenation with our Urban Flight Collective hair braiding and pedicure day. Learn about the art and history of African hair braiding while being adorned by skilled local women. Sip on champagne as you enjoy pampering pedicures, immersing yourself in the essence of Rwandan beauty rituals.

​Later in the evening, join us for an unforgettable welcome dinner, where we'll officially kick off our journey together as part of the Urban Flight Collective.

Day 3: Culture Day

​

Today we will head on a vibrant adventure as we delve into the heart of Rwandan culture. Begin with a unique market shopping experience, where you'll discover the rich culture of African fabrics and history. You'll get one outfit included where our Urban Flight Collective team of tailors will take your design and your fabric choice and create it for you!

 

After we do our market shopping we will engage in a hands-on cooking class, guided by local women, as you prepare traditional dishes using fresh ingredients sourced from bustling markets. Dive deep into the culinary traditions and stories that shape Rwanda's vibrant food culture.

Day 4: Cultural Day Part 2

 

Today we will head on a captivating journey through Rwanda's cultural! Venture beyond Kigali for a day filled with immersive experiences, from tasting local banana beer at a traditional brewery to learning ancient hunting techniques from ex-poachers, including insights from the Batwa community. Explore the healing traditions of Rwanda with a visit to a local traditional healer, discovering the medicinal properties of indigenous plants and their significance in local healing practices and LOTS MORE!

Day 5: Reflective Exploration

Today we will dive into Rwanda's poignant history with a visit to the Genocide Museum, honoring the memory of those affected by past atrocities. Then, feel the rush of adrenaline as we venture to the mountains for an exhilarating ATV and zip line experience, blending introspection with adventure against the breathtaking backdrop of Rwanda's natural landscapes.

Day 6: Artisan Craft and Giving Back

Today we willl embrace the artistry of Rwandan culture with a hands-on basket weaving workshop, guided by expert local artisans. We will learn about the cultural significance of sisal basketry and contribute to this age-old tradition by crafting your own souvenir to cherish.

 

Following the workshop, join us in giving back to the community by visiting an after-school center, where we'll engage with local children and leave a lasting impact through meaningful interaction and support.

Day 7: Farewell Rwanda

As our journey comes to an end, bid farewell to the enchanting landscapes and warm hospitality of Rwanda as we prepare to return home to the USA, carrying with us memories of cultural immersion, adventure, and meaningful connections forged along the way.
